Benefits of TSCA Membership
TSCA membership offers:
- opportunities for professional development
- legislative advocacy and representation
on behalf of school counselors
- newsletter to keep up with what is going on
- access to the TSCA website with links
to areas of importance to school counselors
- TSCA listserv for professional school counselors in
Tennessee, to discuss issues, post meeting and conference information,
and network with other school counselors
- and, most importantly, the opportunity
to meet other counselors, share ideas, and work with professionals who
share a common bond.
Who is Eligible to Join TSCA?
Any person who is engaged in or interested
in school counseling in Tennessee is eligible to become a member.
Membership in the Tennessee Counseling
Association and one of their regional chapters is required for membership
in TSCA. For membership information, please contact the TSCA Membership

Types of Memberships
There are four types of memberships in TSCA:
- Regular - Individuals engaged or interested
in school counseling at any level
- Student - Any student at the college level having
interest in the area of human services and school counseling. (They
must be endorsed by a college professor and membership fee will be one
half regular membership.)
- Retired Persons - Any active member, upon retirement,
is elgible for membership. (Fee will be one half of regular membership.)
- Honorary - Individuals manifesting an interest
in and support for the Association shall be considered for Honorary
Membership. Such members are not elgible to vote of hold office and
do not pay dues.

Memberships must be renewed on or before
the individual member's annual anniversary date.

While membership in the American School
Counselor Association is not required, all counselors are strongly urged
to join this national school counselor group. An application for membership
can be found at the ASCA
website.
